The release date for A Way Out is going to be early 2018. A more definitive time will be decided in the fall. The reasons for this are that I’ll be in a web design program at Sheridan College starting this fall that will take up much of my time, I’m pretty sure I want to include my graduation from Brock University in October in the memoir, and there is a long process to go through.
The process I need to get through is writing the actual memoir, having it edited, going through the changes, getting proofreaders, doing the cover design, having the interior layout designed, printing a copy and reading through everything, getting early reviews, making a book trailer, then publishing, then (possibly) entering awards, having giveaways, setting up book signings at bookstores, getting books into bookstores, contacting newspapers, radio stations, my schools, organizations, getting more reviews, and continuing to promote and market the book. And I’ll be/have been contacting people before it’s published as well. So there’s a lot to do before and after the memoir gets published… but I look forward to every bit of it! I already have a marketing plan, as you can roughly see, as I’d love for A Way Out to reach as many people as possible.
To sum things up, there is much more to writing a book than just writing. I’ve put hours upon hours of research online looking into all of what you see above and more, including the fine details, and so to do this all the right way I’m not going to rush things.
